Tributaries members and neighbours, Geoff Robinson and Ying-Lan Dann discuss the movement of water local to their homes above a buried and channelised creek. The audio work allows their walk and conversation to amplify the sounds of the creek recorded from stormwater drains. Emerging from a shared experience of living in a highly urbanised situation, the drains become possibilities for noticing and amplifying the life of waterways that continue in spite of (mis)management practices since white settlement. First aired on BUS Radio on 25 August, 2020, this audio work continues to inform Tributaries’ approach to walking as a situating methodology, becoming a way to unsettle colonial relations to Country by feeling the gullies and rises.
